My research to date has centered around the descendants of Robert and Nichola (Gordon) McCLELLAN. They arrived in America in 1774 with their six children - eventually settling in Washington County, NY. Two of the children, William M. and Robert, are both my 3xgr-grandparents, because my great-grandparents, Martha E. "Lizzie" (McClellan) and Donald McClellan were third cousins, I descend from William Gordon (1801-1878) and Minerva (McEachron) (1812-1875) [Lizzie's parents} and Col.William and Margaret (Randles) McClellan [Donald's parents}]. In addition, I'm from another line of McClellans - Alexander, father of Margaret Randles' mother. Alexander came from Ireland to America.

My maternal ancestors - Christopher REYNOLDS (1555-1634) of England whose son, Christopher, arrived in Warwick County, VA in 1622 aboard the "Frances and John." He married Elizabeth in 1636. Their descendants eventually settled in Edgefield County, S.C. John and Jane (Barnardoe)BOYD came from Ireland and settled in South Carolina. My grandparents are George Briggs and Mary Myrtle (BOYD)REYNOLDS.
