I have traced one side (maternal) up to seven generations and paternal side up to six. Both sides came from the Montreal area (Sorel). Secor was derived from Sicard - I found an abundance of info from Sicards who came directly from France and changed their name to Secor when they reached New York - however, it appears my family did not take that route. I have two goals - to trace most of my ancestors to France and to find some tie to Urbain Jette, who appears to be a legend in the genealogical circle (my Mother's maiden name is Jette). |
