Notes for Albert W. Hamann:
There farm was the first far west of Zion Lutheran Church. The milkman found their farmhouse on fire.Nobody was hurt, but their home was destroyed.
In the fall, when the corn was ripe, the cobs were brought into the house, and the husks were taken off and put into bags (so to speak) and these bags were used for mattresses. When matted down, a good shaking restored them quite well.
The family was good friends with Pastor Strauch and there was a well worn path from the family farm to the parsonage.
In 1942, they celebrated their Golden Wedding, with a reconsecration service at Zion Lutheran Church (Princeton Township).Joining them were Mrs. Albert Juhfield and William Hoeft who has served as bridesmaid and best man at their wedding.
