According to Thomas Garrett's sworn deposition on 12/2/1839 for a Revolutionary War pension, a long time friend and witness, Elizabeth Harrison, widow of James Harrison, swore that Thomas lived in Mecklenberg Ct in 1781 shortly after the war ended. This is proven by the tax lists at the time as a James Harrison is found in 1787 Mecklenburg Cty living next to a Thomas Garrett and Thomas Garrett, JR.
