The J.L. Thorp and T. E. Perry Families of Texas

I began researching my father's family, the Thorp and Frans families of Throckmorton and Shackleford Counties in NW Texas and related lines in the mid 1980s. As I worked on these families I began to include my mother's family, the King and Perry families of Lamar County in NE Texas. This work has been going on for over 20 years and now includes many related families. The families each came from the Eastern US, through Kentucky and Arkansas, and then settled to very vastly different parts of Texas. From our Texas beginnings in NW Texas and NE Texas we have moved to as far as California and Alaska. Some of the related surnames you will come across are Farmer, Wilkinson, Watson, Jett, Casey, Self, and Burton to name a few.
