The first recorded mention of the name Selth that has been traced to date is a will of William Selthe, of the village of Wodedallying (Wood Dalling as it is known today) in the county of Norfolk, England. Many Selths appear in wills and parish registers in Wood Dalling and surrounding villages up to 1794 but none after that date. The spelling of the name changed to Selth in a will in 1535 and has been used ever since. |
