The sources for the above info comes from, Land Records Ga. 1786, 1820Habersham Co. Ga. Census, Tax List of Alexandria, Va of 1800, GeorgiaState Census of 1860, 1800 Pendleton SC Census, History of Sutton family by Elijah Sutton to E.H. Sutton 1870, Information from Doris Coulter (re:family history) , Layton Sutton, Lile R. Easterling.
I have to search for the note, but I believe I read somewhere that Elijah or perhaps Edmund was taken in by James and Catherine. Perhaps a son of William Sutton, brother of James? I also wonder if Anna and Edmund were twins, although I have no info saying such. I believe Edward may have been confused
with Edmund. I'll keep checking and see what I find. Layton Sutton provided me with some info as well as a Larry McCutchen who provided me with group sheets of several ancestors. I think once I enter ALL the info I have into my new data base It will clear up some mistakes. forexample, Elijah B. Sutton who is listed as husband to Burtheny Ellen Sutton, dau of James M. Sutton. This Elijah's last name is
actually Seaton but was listed as a Sutton. I located a note on a group sheet that implies that Reuben Sutton had a son, Joseph, H. H. and another I can't read but begins with "E" who were raised by James Sutton.
