Some Descendants of Elijah Self and Catharine Taylor

Elijah Self Jr. was a son of Betsy (unk) Self; father unknown. Betsy was probably a daughter of Nancy Self, wife of old Isaac Self of Jefferson County, Alabama.
Elijah's mother, Betsy, married 2nd in Rhea Co., TN Jacob Ware and came to the area of Clay in Jefferson Co., AL in 1817. They were members of the same church as Francis Self and wife, Lydia, and the minister, Rev. Perry Tunnell and wife, Catharine Self. Some Self researchers feel the Selfs who attended this Shiloh Church, formerly at Cedar Mountain, now United Methodist Church at Clay, AL, were all descendants of Presley Self--including Elijah and Nathaniel Self, heirs of Betsy Ware.
