| I am searching for information about Beards who settled in Cumberland County, North Carolina during the 1700's. Part of Cumberland County was Bladen County at that time. The earliest known member of this family in Cumberland/Bladen County, NC was Neil Beard. My great grandfather was Amos McNeal Beard, my Grandfather was Judson Beard and my father was Amos Leonard Beard. I am also interested in the Hollingsworth family who migrated to Cumberland County, NC from Wilmington, DE. I descend from Valentine Hollingsworth through his son John Valentine. John Valentine Hollingsworth married Katherine Tyler, daughter of William Tyler of Salem, New Jersey. |
