Winklers, Durbins, Jacquets, and Schmidts of Ohio

My parents, Ethel Rose Durbin and Garfield Arthur Winkler, died within seven months of each other -- in September 2000 and April 2001 respectively. To honor their memory, I am reconstructing our family history.

With the help of other wonderful genealogists, I now have good files on the Durbins and Jacquets. My next project is to write a family history book weaving together all the pieces of information I have found and been given. This accounts for my mother's side of the family.

The Schmidts and Winklers have not been as well researched. My great-grandfather, Charles Winkler, apparently came to Cincinnati from Bavaria at age 10 in 1847. I know nothing of my great-grandfather Frederick (?) Schmidt. However, I do have good genealogical resources right here in Cincinnati. I simply need to roll up my sleeves and begin digging.If anyone else has information about the Winklers and Schmidts, I would be grateful for the sharing. In turn I am happy to share my files as well.
