I am researching my great-grandparents families, Richard Herbert Hensey and Elsie Annie White. I have traced both sides to 8 generations. Still looking for quite a few dates and relatives who are descendants of James & Alicia (Taylor) White of Mill Village, Nova Scotia. Specifically, James/Alicia's children. Anyone with photos, information on this family would be greatly appreciated. I will be happy to share photos/info on what I have collected. To those of you that I have sent this page to, please feel free to correct anything wrong by emailing me any changes, additions, deletions etc. in the reports that are linked at the bottom under the pictures.
I want to thank Louise, Aunt Elsie, Debbie, Lorne, Tim, Darren, Richie, Sande, Phyllis and David for their input. Your information has helped me a great deal. Tim/Louise from the bottom of my heart I can't thank you enough for the pictures and the archives. I've been a pain, but in the end this is all worth it.
Louise & I traveled to to Nova Scotia, June, 2004. We visited our cousin Lorne White and his beautiful wife, Mary. They fed us dinner after our long drive and we shared stories, moments, took pictures and enjoyed their beautiful garden. Then Lorne called his baby sister Yvonne and nephew Reid and had them come by for us to meet and share more stories. My only regret is that we didn't have a tape recorder!! Next morning we drove down to Liverpool and met with Tim McDonald. Tim is our cousin whether he wants to be or not!!! He has relatives on the Hensey side of the family and he just feels like family even though it may only be through marriage. Tim is a walking genealogist and he has information that I can't even begin to describe. He has given me some archived information, pictures and background info on Liverpool and one of its most famous residents, Henry Hensey. I am compiling all the data & pictures. I will scan what needs to be scanned and put on this site in the coming weeks. I will also provide links on Henry Hensey and Portia White that is wonderful reading material about two famous people in our family. Nova Scotia is a beautiful penninsula and a wonderful place to see where our ancestors were born and raised. This needs to be on our list of places to visit.
Debbie and her husband Rob just came back from vacation. They visited Halifax and Liverpool.
Debbie and three of her sisters, Carmen, Sybil & Julie came to Atlanta for the 2005 Labor Day weekend as well as cousin Nancy Oliver-MacKenzie whom I met for the very first time! We shopped, eat and hung out. We also attended worship services at Ebenezer Baptist Church and praised God together. We had a wonderful time seeing each other again!!
Lillian & Gregg's house is finished and she hosted a Luau on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005.
The family reunion cruise to the Southern Carribean was October 30-November 6, 2005. There were 55 family/friends! We left out of San Juan, Puerto Rico and cruised for several days!! What a time we had! We will be doing it again in 2007 for sure and those that couldn't make this one, start saving for the next! We are hoping more of our new found cousins can cruise with us on the next one. With the size of this family, if everyone went on our cruises, we would fill the entire ship with just our family!!
The holidays have passed and I hope everyone had a great one! I always travel to Boston to spend them with my family and as usual this was another great vacation for me.
Going "outside the box" this year on travels. San Diego, Montreal, Halifax/Mill Village/Liverpool, Bermuda.
Have met another cousin! Her name is Veronica Paris and she is related to us on the White side. She is the granddaughter of Elsie Hensey (White)'s sister Ella Mae. So now we have come in contact with several of Ma's sisters & brothers offspring--Clara, Ella May, Izie, Charles, Harold!
Please feel free to print out the reports at the bottom of this page and email me updates, addition
