HORSE AND WAGON REPLACEMENT

HORSE AND WAGON REPLACEMENT
A Sternberg 2 ton, chain-driven truck made in Milwaukee. It was the first truck to be operated in this area. This method speeded up box deliveries, but much grief was experienced in operating such heavy equipment over the narrow and ungraveled roads and grassy areas around cheese factories. It was difficult to pass or meet horse drawn vehicles. It was common practice meeting a horse, that if it should shy, the truck would stop and allow the horses to pass. Paul Blum is operating the vehicle.
