Find Family
This tree started with simple curiosity - I wanted to know the national origin of the name. So far, I have had no success with that, though there are more possibilities now than when I started. Now I'm hooked, and it will continue to grow whether or not that question is answered. We now have an Australian branch on the tree, so we are in the Northern, Western and Southern Hemispheres. Major countries are England, Brazil, Cuba, Netherlands, United States and Australia, with mentions of Ireland, Austria, Scotland, France, Switzerland, Russia, Italy, Canada, Bolivia, Chile, Guernsey, Spain, Germany, Poland, Hungary, and Romania. We even have William the Conqueror in the tree, though he is not in the direct line. Where in the world will we show up next? There is more of the tree - in March 2005 approximately 12% was removed in order to comply with the 2000 individual limit of this site. William the Conqueror's forbears have gone, and the Digbys are decimated. Finally, sources. They are being added (very) slowly, but I would like to acknowledge Janice Aslin's contributions to the Aslin/Brettle/Flinders area. Also the monumental and detailed web page of Sarah and Christopher Long which gave us William the Conqueror and his Descendants. (http://www.christopherlong.co.uk/pinneyfurze2/index.html#CNTC) The Glenister information I had before I discovered their site, but if these are not your Glenisters, go to www.glenister.org - they will be there.
