My name is Carl Sgamboti. My parents are Salvatore Sgamboti and Mary Tiadora. Mary is the daughter of Santo Teodoro and Rosa Morelli. Rosa was the eldest child of Giuseppe Morelli and Concetta Terranova. Giuseppe was the son of Luca Morelli. The vast amount of information in this family tree had a humble beginning in 1995. For over fifty-five years, I knew very little about the side of my family that bore my last name. My son, Carl, re-ignited my curiosity by giving me a birthday present of a genealogy course. After completing that course, I emerged with a new sense of purpose and some basic skills for conducting genealogical research. In my search to find information about the Sgamboti side of the family, I obviously had to research my mother's side of the family, the Morelli side. After ten years, the research continues. This website focuses on the Morelli family side only. It shows the descendents of the Luca Morelli with specific focus on two of his children, Giuseppe and Filomena Morelli. At this point in the research, they are the only two children of Luca identified. Future research will uncover if other children existed. The information on this website is consciously kept to a minimum for all living members. It shows the relationships between the family members. Birth and death dates are shown only for deceased people. While my initial research provides a great deal of the information contained on this website, an ever-increasing amount of information is supplied through the dedicated research and work of some members of the Morelli family. The genealogical research effort completed to date is not the end of the line. As the family grows, new family researchers will need to take the torch and to carry this effort into the future to ensure the permanence of the family legacy. As the principal researcher, I want to thank everyone who helped to "fill in the blanks" on the various family branches. As I mentioned earlier, the information on this website is rather sparse and meant solely to show the relationships of living and deceased members of the Morelli family. If any family member desires a more complete and detailed version of the information, please contact me by any of the manners shown to the left of this screen.
