3. Eugenus Harvey³ Mcginnis (Jesse Thomas², Matthew¹)² was born 11 Apr 1836, and died 12 Jun 1905. He married Nancy Britton 14 May 1857 in Preston Co., WV³, daughter of James Britton and Elizabeth Squires.

Notes for Eugenus Harvey Mcginnis:
1. Eugene McGinnis, a popular carpenter & contractor, is a native of
PRESTON Co, born in what is now Kingwood District, April 11, 1836. In
1857 he married Miss Nancy Britton & to them were born 12 children, 8 sons
and 4 daughters. She died several years ago. Squire McGinnis, as he is
universally called, served as the first mayor of Tunnelton. In 1877 he
was elected a justice of the peace & served with satisfaction for 4 years.
In 1880 he was commissioned a notary public, & still does considerable
work in that line, in addition to working at his trade.
