On 23rd February 1758 Jonathan Samson of Plympton, laborer, with wife Deborah, sold to Joseph Parrall of Plympton estate that was his father's, formerly given to his mother by his grandfather Lucas. Jonathan Samson deserted his family about 1767 and lived in Maine with a common-law wife named Martha. Jonathan Samson is in Maine when he served in the Revolution. Jonathan Samson is 2-1-2 in the 1790 US Census of New Sandwichtown, Lincoln County, Maine, USA On 7th August 1794 Mary Perkins of Plympton, widow, and Bethia Sampson, wife of Joseph of Plympton sold to Jonathan Samson of Starling (now Fayette) in Lincoln County, Maine which belonged to their grandfather Benoni Lucas which descended to their mother Joanna Samson, late of Plympton, deceased. On 28th June 1794 Jonathan Sampson sold this land to Oliver Parker. Deborah Sampson, the widow of Jonathan Sampson, is moved from Plympton to Fayette Maine by the town of Fayette Maine 19th November 1810 and is living 11th March 1811. No Maine probate or land records for Jonathan Samson. An Extensive account of this family appears in MQ 48:172-7.
