Daniel Dikeman was born May 19, 1795, and was the son of Hezekiah and Ester Shribner (or Scribner) Dikeman.His mother Ester, was a patriot of the Revolutionary War, serving as a messenger.He surely looks to have Native American features.His mother would have been 31 years old when he was born, so perhaps he was adoped?Any insight into where the mystery Indian features came from would be appreciated. - Joe Sharp family, Jasper Co., Indianacirca 1890 (72 KB)

My Great Grandfather, James Skene, born 1888 in Cardiff, South Wales to David? Skene and unknown mother.He married Lillian Annie Maud Pitfield on May 14, 1919, in Southampton, England.He was captured by the German's in WWI and worked in the salt mines as forced labor.He and a French Soldier POW, befriended each other, taught each other their native languages and escaped together.He died in 1968 in Southampton, England. - Abigail Hoyt Dikeman, my 5th great grandmother (41 KB)

This tintype photo is dated July 11th, 1862.He was born the eldest of 12 children to Alexander and Nancy (Bingham) McQuade on July 02, 1845 in Green Twp., Wayne OH, died May 19, 1879 in St. Cloud, Stearns, MN( enroute for Doctor or climate?).He married HarrietBailey December 24, 1866 in Onieda, Knox County, IL and they had 2 daughters, Minnie (my gg-grandmother) born in 1870, and Claudia born just one month before Jesse's death, and whom he never got to see.As a soldier in Civil War, he served as Serg.,Co I, 102nd Illinois Infantry. - Harold M.
