"Uncle" Bill Grimes (Harrodsburg) says Daniel G. Graham served in the Spanish-American War (United States/Spain 1898).(Tommye Adkisson talked w/Bill Grimes September 2003.)
Obituary from Nicholasville News, Wednesday, February 19, 1947 (File Grimes #2):
"Daniel G. Graham, aged 69 years, of Wilmore, died February 16 at the U. S. Veterans hospital at Louisville, after an illness of several months.
"He was a member of Camp No. 4, United Spanish American War Veterans and the Blue Grass Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
"Survivors include two sons, Daniel Graham of Seattle, Wash., and W. H. Graham of Louisville; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Cahill of Cincinnati, O. and Mrs. Robert Comstock, of St. Paul, Minn; two borthers, Leonard and Garland Graham of Jessamine county; a sister, Mrs. Sally Grimes, Jessamine County."
