The subject of this notice was a consecrated Christian and an able and efficient minister of the gospel. He preached to the Baptist Church at this place nearly forty years and none was ever more acceptable. He was a man of strong convictions of right and duty and followed them as a leader and teacher of his people and influence for good willl be felt for years to come. He served his day and generation well and it can be truthfully said of him, "Well done thou good and faithful servant. Thou has been faithful over a few things. I will make you ruler over many things. Enter thou into the Joy of the Lord."
