Isaac Hamilton Sullivan (1844-1921)

Isaac Hamilton Sullivan (1844-1921)
Isaac was considered among the best of the "old time fiddlers". He used to play nearly all night at country dances. He also played at the Inaugural Ball for James Stephen Hogg, first native governor of Texas (1890-1895). Isaac was a shotgun guard for Governor James Stephen Hogg. Isaac's granddaughter, Coy Sullivan Ratliff has the sawed off shot gun Isaac used as guard. Isaac and Hampton Hamilton Sullivan were close friends of Governor Hogg. There used to be a picture of Isaac Sullivan, his son, James Henry Sullivan and Governor Hogg that hung in the State Capitol in Austin.
