I am researching the following surnames: Shelton, Reeves, Bass, Hayden, Sullivan, Murphy, Forrester, Leiby, Sandmann, Marshall, Pace, and Williams.

The geographic areas for the older generations I am aware of include: Robeson County, North Carolina; Hickman County, Tennessee; and Mississippi County, Missouri. There was, of course, travel involved for the families between the east coast and Missouri and this probably took them through regions of Tennessee, Kentucky and maybe Arkansas.

I have early records indicating the Bass Family and Reeves Family in Robeson County, North Carolina. The Reeves line of my family seems to have migrated through Hickman County, TN. Many Reeves relations stayed in Hickman and surrounding counties after my direct relations moved west. They may have stopped in western Kentucky before settling in Mississippi County, Missouri.
I have limited information on the Haydens and Sullivans which place them in Mississippi County, Missouri, the Mayfield, Graves County, Kentucky area and probably in the Northern part of Arkansas.

The Shelton records place them in Mississippi County, Missouri. Although family lore has it that they came from the Western part of Kentucky, I have no records proving this fact.

I would love to hear from anyone who has any related family and am willing to share information. Any help on my Shelton line and the Hayden line would be particularly appreciated at this moment since I seem to have run into early brick wall in tracing the lineage.
