Richard Booth was born in 1607 in England and married Elizabeth Hawley in Stratford, Connecticut around 1640. They were one of the founding families of Stratford. Six of their eight children reached maturity and raised large families of their own. The Booth family members were influential citizens throughout Connecticut. Their monuments in the Stratford Congregational Church Burying Ground are among the largest.
