A seven year old son of Henry Sheldon died Monday, of last week, and was buried Tuesday.

Henry Sheldon, farmer, was found dead in bed this morning at his home in Roundhead about 7 o'clock. Heart trouble is believed to have been the cause of his death.

According to Coroner Johnson, who was called, death resulted from pneumonia and heart trouble.

The deceased was born in McDonald township, January 2, 1856, and at the time of his demise had reached the age of 74 years and four days. He had been a resident of Hardin county all his life and was well known to a large host of friends who deeply regret his passing.

Surviving is the widow; five sons, Harry and Otis at home, Lewis of Columbus, Howard of Bellefontaine, and Frank of Lima; two daughters, Belle Farout of Roundhead; and Mary Spiker of Decantar, Mich; 14 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; four brothers. Angus, George, Harrison and Frank Sheldon and one sister, Mrs. John Farout.

Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Roundhead church. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Lewis Sheldon, 81, Called by Death, Rites Saturday

ROUNDHEAD - Lewis Sheldon, 81 died 8 P.M. Wednesday at his home. He suffered a sudden heart attack, however he had been ailing for several months.

He was born Dec. 2, 1879 in Hardin County to Henry and Anna (Vansky) Sheldon.

Survivors include two foster daughters Mrs. Martin Ondjakro of Cleveland and Mrs. Leonard Detwiler of Russells Point, two sisters Mrs. Mary Spyker of Decatur, Mich. and Mrs. James Faurot of Route 3, Kenton, three brothers Frank of Route 1, Waynesfield, Otis of Roundhead and Howard of Bellefontaine.

Services will be Saturday at the Alger Hanson funeral home. Rev. Don Cotrone will officiate with burial in McDonald-Fairview cemetery.

ALGER - Oatis Sheldon, 78, formerly of Roundhead, died in the Hardin County Home and Hospital at 5 P.M. Wednesday.

Born July 29, 1890 in Hardin county, he was a son of henry and Ann (Vansky) Sheldon. Retired, he was a farm laborer and had never married.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Dell Faurot of Ridgeway; and one brother, Howard of Bellefontaine.

Services will be Saturday in the Alger Hanson funeral home with Rev. Willard Thomas officiating. Burial will be in McDonald-Fairview cemetery.

Alta C. Sheldon, 78, Kenton Care Center

Services will be held Thursday at the Kennedy Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, by the Rev. Howard Currance of Roundhead, with burial in Fairview McDonald Cemetery.

The former resident of 521 Jay St., Bellefontaine, died at 1:30 A.M. today in the care center.

She was born in Hardin County June 4, 1897 to William and Sara (McKinley) Shepherd. She was first married to Everett Lattimer, who died in 1919. She married Howard Sheldon in April, 1920. He died Oct. 30, 1970.

Surviving are two sons, Russell Lattimer of Bellefontaine and Darold Lattimer of Urbana; a daughter, Mrs. Curtis (Luella) Richardson of Bellefontaine; a brother, Ernest Shepherd of Lima; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Three brothers and eight sisters are deceased.

She was a member of the First Church of God in Bellefontaine.

Diphtheria has broken out afresh: There are two cases at Wekns Living Stones and two at George Sheldon's. Sheldon's children are very sick. There is no school at the Wallace school this week on account of it.

A two year old child of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sheldon died Friday of membranous croup.

The nine year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Sheldon died at the home of her parents West of town, Thursday of diphtheria and was buried Friday.

The eight year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Sheldon died Sunday night of diphtheria and was buried Monday.

George Sheldon, 81, one of the district's best known farmer and onion growers, died in his home, 921 East Franklin St., at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday after failing health of one year and serious illness of three weeks from infirmities of age.

Born in McDonald Twp. on March 1, 1861, Mr. Sheldon spent his lifetime in Kenton and Hardin Co. He retired from farming five years ago.

During his active life, the deceased was prominent in business circles and served McDonald Twp as trustee for a time.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Moore Sheldon, to whom he was married on March 3, 1886; four daughters; Mrs. Sylvester Scharf of Kenton, Mrs Carl Clark of Salene, Mich, Mrs William Lamb and Mrs. William Johnson of McDonald Twp; two sons, Albert and Eric Sheldon of Roundhead; one sister, Mrs. Lucinda Faurot of Kenton; a brother Frank Sheldon of McDonald Twp; and 27 grandchildren. Two sons and two daughters preceded him in death.

The body will remain at the family home, 921 East Franklin St where friends may call and the funeral services will be Held at 2 P.M. Saturday, Rev. A. A. Ames will officiate and burial in charge of Schindewolf funeral home will be in Fairview cemetery, McDonald Twp.

Mrs. Rosa Sheldon, 219 Sycamore St., succumbed at 5:30 A.M. today at her home. Death came after an extended illness with complications. She had been seriously ill for the past three weeks.

Born in Silver Creek July 20, 1867, she had lived her entire life in this community. She was a member of the Flat Branch Church of Christ. She has hundreds of friends who mourn her passing.

On March 3, 1886 she married George Sheldon, who preceded her in death April 23, 1942.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Sylvester Scharf, McDonald Twp., Mrs. William Lamb, Washington Twp.; Mrs. Carl Clark, Marshall, Mich., and Mrs. William Johnson, Blanchard Twp.; one sister Miss Etta Moore of Toledo; thirty grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Two sons and two daughters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held from the Schindewolf funeral home on Monday, with Rev. Hunter Beckelhymer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview McDonald cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the late residence, where friends may call.
