| This home page will hopefully provide further communications and exchange of information between the descendents of Moses Spoorman, born in 1838 in Taurage (or sometimes referred to as Tavrig), Lithuania. More particularly, we're involved with the descendents of his sons and daughters who immigrated to the United States in the late 1800s to escaped the regligous persecution of Jews in Russia and the countries enveloped by Russia. All took on the surname of Shurman. Jacob Shurman, Aaron Shurman, Hyman Shurman, Anne Shurman, Herschel Shurman, Sophie Shurman, Deena Shurman.Jacob and Aaron were the first over and came together.The others followed, but in what order I do not know.The settled in Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri and Tennessee.Later generations spread across the country. | The Jack Shurman Family Home Page Updated September 5, 2000 |
