      Lewis Henry Shuey is listed on the passenger log of the ship Johnson as "Lodawick Schwe". He arrived in Philadelphia on
19 Sep, 1732, traveling with his mother and father from Rotterdam. He was not quite six years of age.

      He is listed on the 1751 Assessment List of Bethel Township (then in Lancaster County) in the Pennsylvania Colony as
"Ludwick Schuhy".

      The 1771 Bethel Township Tax List includes "Shewey, Ludw". He is listed as owning 400 acres, five horses, and six cows.
