HISTORY OF THE EMANUELE FAMILY     
As related to me (Elizabeth Emanuele Duve) by my father Donato Emanuele
"The originator of our branch of the Emanuele Family was Tomaso Emanuele. He was one of seven brothers. They settled in Roseto Valfortore, Provience of Foggia, Italt. They originated from the Province of Abruzzi, Italy. Their family was well to do, owned extensive lands, lovestock, etc. They were educated, which, in those older days, only the well off were educated. The seven brothers were forced to leave the Province of Abruzzi because they took the law into their own hands to defend the honor of their sisters. Your Great Grandfather was assessor for the City Of Roseto.

OBITUARY
Dominico Antonio Emanuele, 90 of 320 W Chestnut Street, died Sunday, October 23, 1977 at Akron City Hospital.

Mr. Emanuele was born in Italy on January 1, 1887, and came to the Akron area 70 years ago. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of St. Vincent's Church, retired from Goodyear Aerospace, and a life-time member of the American Legion, and Eagles Lodge No. 555.

He is survived by his beloved wite, Carmela; sons, Andrew and Nicola, all of Akron; daughters Josephine Signorelli, of Miami Spring, Fla., Caroline Zito, of Wadsworth O; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, sister Mrs. Josephine Zucco, of Niagara Falls.

GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY NOTICE (From Akron Beacon Journal, Ohio 11-22-58)
Mr. & Mrs. Domenico Emanuele of 320 W. Chestnut St. reached their Golden Wedding anniversary today.

They were married Nov, 22, 1908 in their native Roseto Valfortore In Italy.

Mr. Emanuele, 72, first came to the U.S. in 1903 and married on a return trip to Roseto Valfortore. It was not until 1920 that Mrs. emanuele, 73, the former Carmela Minecola, came to the U.S. and they settled in Akron.

Mr. Emanuele was employed in several Akron rubber plants until he was crippled when struck by a care in the 30's.

He had recovered sufficently by World War II to walk with a cane. Goodyear Aircraft Corp, found a sitting down job for him operating a drill press. He retired at the end of the war.

The Emanueles have two sons, Andrew and Nick, both of Akron; two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Signorelli of Cuyahoga Falls and Mrs. Caroline Zito of Wadsworth, and 12 grandchildren.

They are all members of St. Vincent Church and the Rosetani Society. Mr. Emanuele served in the U.S. Army during World War I.

The family will attend Mass Sunday and receive Hold Communion together. Afterwards, they will dine at the Brown Derby Restaurant and return to the Chestbut St. home in time for an open house starting at 2 PM and lasting into the evening.

When asked their formula for a successful marriage, Mrs. Emanuele spoke for them in Italian, which translated was: "Adopt a conciliartory attitude toward each other." She added one final work in English: "Togetherness."
