| Whew, that's a mouthful! I'm just getting started really...it looks like quite a bit of work has been done on the Furlows, but almost none on the Hicks side of the family. Also, I could find very little about the Jencks, Gauthier or Haines families so far. Hopefully I'll do better in the future. The Haines Gauthier side is my mother's family. I've been told that our Haines ancestors started the Chase Manhattan Bank, made pianos and violins, and were the younger sons of a Welsh earl. Supposedly my great-grandmother, Amelia Eschbach, can trace her family back to the Mayflower. The Furlow Hicks family is on my father's side. He was an only child, but had scores of cousins in Christopher IL and surrounding areas. I've only been to IL a couple of times so far. I know I'm related to a family named Zieglar (sp?) in the area. Sikula, of course, is my married name. I put the all-in-one tree up because I thought it might be helpful to someone else, since I found so much on the Furlows. At least when I'm online people can search the information. The Hicks side is mournfully small, as is the Haines, Gauthier and Jencks portion of the tree. Wish me luck! |
