Welcome to the Silletts of Norfolk Web site. The contents of this site come from the family tree compiled by Rick Sillett of Rowville, Victoria, Australia. Many thanks to those people who have helped along the way. If you have any corrections or additions, please let me know. Whilst the Silletts are my main focus, my Mother's maternal roots go back to Norfolk too and her family names include Vertigan and Yaxley. On my mother's paternal side, I am researching the Hardy's from Newark-on-Trent. The short story is that my ancestors on both sides emigrated to Australia around 1850 and put down roots in Tasmania and Victoria. They were free settlers. My paternal great-grandmother was a Login. William Spence Login emigrated to Australia from Stromness in the Orkney Islands, Scotland and settled in the Gippsland region of Victoria I would love to hear from anyone researching the Silletts or these other surnames.
