Notes for Zelda Crump Fetty: Simpkins, Zelda E Crump Point Pleasant Register, Point Pleasant, WV Wednesday, June 18, 2003 Obituaries Page A5 POINT PLEASANT -- Zelda E Crump Simpkins, 79, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, passed away at her residence Tuesday, June 17, 2003, after a lengthy illness. She was born January 30, 1924, in Mason County, West Virginia, to the late Ernest and Edna Fetty. She attended the First Church of God. She was a devoted mother and wife, and was a retired riverboat cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Roach; a son, Carl A "Sonny" Simpkins; a sister, Nancy Keyser; a son-in-law, Harold Stewart; and her maternal grandparents, Andrew and Elsie Crump. She is survived by her husband, Carl W Simpkins; four daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Stewart, and Debbie and Scott Stewart, all of Point Pleasant, Carolyn and Larry Roach of Melbourne, Florida, and Tammy and Charlie Grimes of West Columbia, West Virginia; and sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Betty Simpkins, Harry and Pam Simpkins, and Wesley and Michelle Simpkins, all of Point Pleasant, Rick Simpkins of Mason, West Virginia, and Patsy Simpkins Stewart of Corden, Indiana. She is also survived by a very special family member, Greg "Tucker" Watson; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, James, David Henry, Harley Hank and Charles Andrew Fetty, all of Point Pleasant, and Ernest Fetty Jr. of Delaware, Ohio; and sisters, Sally Young of Cheshire, Ohio, Betty Sue Young of Letart, Wet (sic) Virginia, and Susie Derenburger of Evans, West Virginia. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2003, at the First Church of God in Point Pleasant, with the Rev Carl Swisher and the Rev Bill Banks officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery at New Haven, West Virginia. Friends may call at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2003, and at the church one hour prior to services.
