Samuel(father of Josiah) sold 100 acres of land 1/15/1779 which had been granted by George II 5/25/1774. He also sold to the same William Vickey 100 acres ofland 1/17/1779 for 200# also granted to them 5/25/1774. This land is now part of Hunter's Estate, New Long Cane Church. Patterson. the bridge is not still standing but ther is a picture of it house stood on Long Cane Creek at the left side of the road Eastern approach to Patterson's bridge
