Lt. John Sanborn lived in Hampton, NH. He was born in (Brimpton), England, son of John and Ann (Bachiler/Batchelder) Sandbord. Ann was 30 years old and a widow in 1630-1 living in the Strand in London. She married 2nd at Stroud, County Kent, England in Jan. 1631-32, Henry Atkinson. John and his 2 brothers (Stephen and William) evidently came to this country under the auspices of their grandfather, Rev. Stephen Bachiler (Batchelder) and the boys various aunts and uncles. When his grandfather went back to England, he settled his Hampton, NH property on the oldest of the Sanborn grandchildren, Lt. John Sanborn.
