    John in his Civil War uniform - date unsure but I'm guessing it was either upon his enlistment or upon a visit during his furlough before he reenlisted.

    Elnorah Amos was born October 20, 1859 and died March 20, 1947 in Bedford, Bedford Co., Pennsylvania. She was married to William Henry Arnold. She is the daughter of Civil War veteran John B. Amos(1833-1901).

    Albert Sinton of Pottsville married Mary Jane Werner. Their children were: back row l to r - Howard, Aaron, Emma, Florence, Robert, Oscar. Front row l to r - Francis, Albert(father), Mary Jane(mother), Albert, Clarence.

    William Henry Arnold was born June 08, 1856 in Bedford, Bedford Co., Pennsylvania and died June 07, 1939. He was married to Elnorah Amos.
  • John Amos Letter (174 KB)
    This letter was written by John Amos in 1896 requesting an increase in his civil war pension.
  • John Amos' Tombstone (1298 KB)
    This tombstone of John B. Amos is located in the Bedford Cemetary locted on Rt. 220 just outside Bedford, PA. His wife, Sarah, is also buried here.
