Crandon Family Tree
Crandon Family TreeUpdated July 29, 2007
The Crandon family traces its roots to the mid 1800s through the union of Watson (PA) and Wilhelmina(MA) Crandon. The generation originated in Courtland Village (No 2) on the Corentyne Coast of Guyana, South America. Word has it that the first “Crandon” male was originally named Crandon Cort, presumably after his BIG MASSAH. He however changed his name to Cort Crandon in order to assume an independent dentity. So we have no relationship with the Crandons of the other persuasion listed in the phone books in North America and Britain. (i.e., we are not green-blooded-Irish) MA and PA bore eight sons and two daughters. From this generation we count 56 grandchildren, the majority of whom were males. Hence the promulgation of a clan that can be reckoned not only in every region of Guyana, but also in neighboring Venezuela, Suriname, Cayenne, the Caribbean Islands, Great Britain, Canada and the US. Through each generation the men have prevailed in numbers thus ensuring immediate recognition wherever we go.
