| I am researching the Spoto family from Onondaga County, Syracuse, New York,and Watertown. Carmelo Spoto born in Aragona,Agrigento on 03/01/1852 and his wife Vincenza Castellana was born abt 1854 in Aragona. They had 2 children daughter Rosa,Simone.Carmelo died in Italy. In the 1910 census Vincenza was married to a Frank Bannamo and had a son Guisipe. She was a midwife and also Rosa was one in Syracuse,New York. The year of immigration was 1903. Rosa was married Ilario Alvaro,who was from Caulonia Reggio Calabria,Sicily, they a daughter Carmella,son name Frank. In 1910 Rosa married Mariano Coppola,who was from Gallico, Reggio Calabria. Had a son name Angelo, daughter Jennie they were born in Watertown, New York than moved to Syracuse. Rosa was born 1880,Joseph Spoto born 1895,Frank Alvaro born 1906, Jennie born 1915, Angelo 1930, Carman and Sam no date.In ADDITION: I'm researching the Scarpete family from Bedford Township, Ohio they came from Carovilli,Isernia. They first appear in the 1910 census. Kydan immigrated 1877 and his wife Josphine(Pesano)Scarpete,and there son John were immigrated in 1898. There other children 4 daughters and another son born in US. Kydan was born 1869,Josephine born 1874,John 1896. Any information would be appreciated. |
