Hi, I am researching my mother's family lines of FACIANE, GALATAS, PENA, & PICHON of the St. Tammany Parish area of Louisiana. My research project began with my mother in the 1960's and has continued to grow ever since. We are interested in any information that links to this family. Currently, we are in the process of verifying all the ancestry and lineages through documents, church records, cemetery records, and the like as well as involved in adding the latest generaton's data.
We will gladly accept verified family information from any individual that wishes to contribute to this database. ALL of our information is source documented and every individual that contributes will indeed get due credit for his/her efforts.

Also, other large surnames in my tree in regard to my mother's family are: NUNEZ, COUSIN, LAURENT, & DUBUISSON also of the St. Tammany Parish area. If you are linked to these families in any way, please contact us. The family file has over 3860+ individuals that are kinship of my mother, (Wow!) and I would like to make sure that you are included in the tree, etc.

In the PENA family line, I am interested in any information on the descendants of Andres de la Pena, who was born c. 1730. His grandson, Adolphe PENA, Sr., who was born about 1805, and great-grandson, Adolphe PENA, Jr., who was born about 1847 both married into my PICHON line. Adolphe PENA, Jr.'s son, Jean Brinville PENA, is my great-grandfather. He also married a PICHON.

In the FACIANE family line, I am interested in any information on the descendants of Bartholome Faciane, born circa 1800. His son, Joseph Faciane, born about 1820 in Cadiz, Spain, had a son named Joseph Thomas FACIANE, born circa 1849 and died 4-11-1880 in St. Tammany Parish, LA. Joseph Thomas FACIANE's son, Joseph Castalanous FACIANE is my great-grandfather. He also married a PICHON.

In the PICHON family line, I am interested in any information on the descendants of Andres PICHON who was the Father to Francois PICHON, born in Bordeaux, France. Francois was our immigrant ancestor. This family line currently (as of Mar. 18, 2001) has 3,400+ linked descendants of Andres PICHON. WOW!

How Can You Help?

Our extended family is quite large. It is nearly impossible to gather some of the data we are looking for completely by ourselves. That is where interested family members, like yourself, can help.

Getting Updated to Include the 1990's:

We would like interested individuals to submit their strand's current genealogical data. To do this, you can telephone, write, or E-mail us. (See phone, address, & E-mail below to the left)

Biographical Information on Family Members:

We have developed a Biographical Questionnaire Form that interested individuals can use to submit biographical data on a family member. We would like to have short biographies on as many of our ancestors as possible and have biographies from any living family members willing to submit the information. The questionnaire takes about 25 minutes to fill out.

The Search For Family Photos:

We are just beginning to dig up our collection of old photos that were taken of family members long ago. Some of these photos were handed down from grandparents, aunts, and uncles; others were photos we took ourselves. If you have a photo from long ago of an ancestor or a current photo of you and your family and wish it to be included in our project, you are welcome to send it in following these guidelines:

1. Send in a copy only. The photo will NOT be returned.
2. Indicate who the individuals are in the photo.
3. Indicate brief circumstances surrounding the photo.
4. Indicate who is sending the photo with an address and phone number on how to contact you.
