" Mahan Shri.Appaya Dikshita" (Birth Name: -VINAYAKA SUBRAMANIAN) was born at ADAYAPALAM, a village near Vellore, 7 Kilometres from Arni, Tamilnadu. He had written around 104 books / Stothras / articles on Vedanta, Bhakthi etc., including “Sivarkamani Dipika”. Various great personalities are / were the descendants of Shri. Appaya Dikshita, including the eminent PALAMADAI NILAKANTA DIKSHITAR, Minister to Madurai King Thirumalai Nayyakar. Other well known descendants include Kodaganallur Sri. Sundara Swamigal, Swami Sivanada Saraswati Maharaj (Divine Life Soceity, Rishikesh) of Pattamadai, Judge Viswanatha Iyer, Sir. C.P. Ramaswamy Iyer, Mannargudi Raju Sastrigal and many others.

These “Family Trees" have been compiled with information provided by various personalities like Late Dr. N. Ramesan - IAS, Palamadai Ramachandran, Madurai Krishnamurthy (Kayes Construction), and Former Consul general Of India Shri. P.N.G. Subramaniyam, Mrs. Savithri Iyer, and of course by my late Father P.S. Krishnaswamy, alias Ambi Anna of Pattamadai.

You may know that I am gathering information about the family history. I am currently working on establishing the various descendants’ details, including the females of the family, and I wonder if you could give me any information about them. In particular, I am looking for Names, birth / death dates, brief note, and photos of both Male and Female Descendants of this Family. To the best of my Knowledge that all the information available with me from various sources are compared, compiled and verified by me for duplicate names, records etc., as of December 2004.

I appreciate you taking the time to help me out. If you would like, I would be happy to send you the family information that I have already collected on this family. "

The descendants’ can send their details, including the females, siblings, known ancestors, descendants etc., of their family. Possible photos of individual in .jpg format is also welcome,so that the Family Tree can be mailed to me & can be updated for easy recognition by others who view the Trees.
Pranams,
