James Sivyer, his wife Sarah Goodsell and their 5 surviving children, Elizabeth, Frederick, Stephen, Harriett and Spencer arrived at Sydney Cove in April 1839. Spencer, my grandfather was then 6 years of age.
James' two brothers, Stephen and William had arrived in 1838 and their desecdants have also been researched by me. James also had a brother John born 1805 and some of his desecdants are here in Australia and many are in Canada and the USA. Muriel Trendell of Canada a desendant of John has supplied me with much data.
James also had two sisters Harriett who married John Goodsell and Elizabeth who married John Hawkins also came here to Australia.
James' parents William and Elizabeth (nee Burtt) have been given various addresses by their children who arrived here, and I have not been able to find their place of burial or their date of death. However it is a proven fact that they all came from various areas in the East Sussex and West Kent parishes.
