Well, we had a good weekend at our Reunion and for those who came, thank you for your attendance, and for those who couldn’t attend for one reason or another, we have a fantastic week-end last Saturday 4th October 2003 at The Rylstone Memorial Hall, Louee Street, Rylstone, with opening at midday, for people to sign the guest Book, and to receive their ID badges.

The Slapp Family Book was released for sale, with over 400 pages, in A4 size, of the Slapp Family and their descendants information. This book is still available. (order details below).

The Reunion commenced with a presentation from Ivan Slapp, regarding the Slapp Family of Great Britain, followed with Todd Slapp, with a presentation of the Slapp Family of the United States, a Special presentation by Cheryl, Denise & Denis, to Doris Slapp for all her work in research of the Family, over many years.

This was followed with a presentation of the arrival of Robert & Mary Ann in Sydney, 1841 and their movements around the country and finally settling in Rylstone. Then a presentation from Rona Smith, of the arrival of William Christmas Slapp, in Sydney, 1880, and settling in New South Wales and marrying. Diner was catered for by the Kandos Scouts group.

On Sunday 5th October 2003 we moved to the Ilford Hall, Ilford NSW for a BBQ lunch, where we talked about the spread of the children of Robert and Mary Ann Slapp into their various areas of NSW. We released a small journal written by Una Oliver, granddaughter of Clara Slapp of life and times surrounding the establishment around ‘Woodbine’ Ilford and their children.
A general wind-up of the two days, thank-you to everybody, plus a special Thank You for those that have travelled great distances from within Australia and those who have travelled from overseas. A group photograph of those who attended, stand under the SLAPP REUNION banner.
The meeting of old friends and relations was unsurpassed at this gathering.
