The Donna Slahor Family Home Page

Updated August 10, 2001

I am researching the SLAHOR family name from Chicago, Cook County, IL. Martin married an Alzbeta (Elizabeth) Janik. They were married on 20 September 1902 at Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church, Chicago, IL. Witness: Jan Slahor. They had 6 children, Anna, Martin, John, Elizabeth, Julia and Stefan. In the 1920 Illinois census, Martin states he was born in Austria. I have found out that Martin and Alzbeta were born in Brezova pod Bradlom, Slovakia. On the census report, he states he was a tanner. I am interested in finding out more about his mother and father, Tomas and Anna. Where did they come from? Birth dates, etc.?
Alzbeta Janik (Janikova) is the oldest daughter of her family. She has one sister and three brothers. They are Anna, Setfan, Juraj and Jan. I have birth dates and know that they were born in Brezova pod Bradlom, Slovakia. I an searching for any information on them also.

I am also researching family names of Derengowski (Deering), Drennan, Geschke, Lindgren, Schuett, Hinrichs, Kreuz and Boeckenhauer. Any information would be appreciated. Would be willing to share information.
