I am researching the descendents of Jan Slag and Elisabeth Thijsens. They immigrated to the Holland, Michigan area in 1847 from Zwolle, Netherlands. The Slagh's helped to build the North Holland community, owned a farm, and had a ship building business. They came to the US with 8 children, one having died in the Netherlands. All these children except one stayed in the western Michigan area. I am particularly interested in finding out about the family of Frederick Slagh and Hendrika Notting who moved to Holland, Nebraska before 1880. Anyone with information about the Slagh Family of Michigan please contact me. I have much to share.
