Augustus Schlegel ( 1806 - 1890) , his wife Christine Lisabeth Frank(e) ( 1807 - 1891) and their three children; Frederick K. (1834 - 1920), Christian (1837 - 1927) and Terese (1846 - 1930) immigrated to America from Prussia in 1846, they settled in the northern Somerset County and later in the southern Cambria County area of Pennsylvania. where they had two more children Caroline ( 1848 - 1935) and David (1852 - 1913).
If your Slagle ancestors came from this area, there is a very good chance that they are a member of this family. At the present time I have located about 750 direct descendents of theirs.
