This Home Page has been set up for the research of the Szendrei family history and has information dating back to the mid 1700's. (Please note that the surname has been spelt two different ways - Szendrei or Szendrey, depending on how it was found in the records. )
Surnames covered are: Szendrei, Sebok, Szabo, Gulyas, Juhasz, Nagy, Pataki, Puskas, Vincze. (See links below)
A little background . . . .
My gr-grandfather, Jozsef Szendrey, with his family, immigrated to Saskatchewan, Canada in 1911. Jozsef SZENDREI was born April 20, 1862 in Karczag, Szolnok, Hungary.
His first marriage was to Rosalia PUSKAS on Nov. 14, 1887 in Karczag, Szolnok, Hungary. Rosalia PUSKAS was born Sept. 26, 1869 and died December 12, 1894 in Karczag, Szolnok, Hungary.
Apparently Jozsef and Rosalia had two boys and two girls. The only information I have is on the daughters:
1. Zsuzsanna, born March 28, 1892. 2. Erzebet, born April 18, 1894, d. May 23, 1894
Zsuzsanna may have been adopted after the death of her mother. I have no information of where the she went or who she may have been adopted by and would appreciate any help in this regard.
Jozsef SZENDREI married his second wife, Erzebet SEBOK on May 13, 1895. Erzebet SEBOK was born March 26, 1875.
Children born to them in Hungary (before immigrating to Canada) were: Ksney (Frank), Klara, Mariska (Mary), Lorincz (Lawrence), Imre (James). Children born in Canada were: Annie Emerentia, John and Joseph.
