Genealogy research for the surnames: SLAY, McFARLEN, HENNESSY, GIMPLE, WEIR, ROSS, SULLIVAN and LEMBACH.
SLAY, McFARLEN and WEIR are from Ellis and Navarro Counties in Texas. Specifically the cities of Italy and Frost from the late 1800's to the 1940's.

HENNESSY, GIMPLE, SULLIVAN, and LEMACH are from the Louisville, KY area approximately late 1800's to 1960's.

Daniel Thomas SLAY was born in Troup County, GA 19Jan 1836 to T.M. SLAY and Jane DARBY. He served in the Civil War and married Zilpha Jane ROSS sometime before December, 1866. Zilpha Jane ROSS was born in Marengo County, AL 20Nov 1843 to Andrew D. ROSS (born 07Dec 1814 to Thomas ROSS b. 15Sep 1769 and Suzanna ? b. 24Sep 1782) and Delia JONES.

James Jefferson WEIR was born 07May 1827 (location unknown) to Dr. Hugh WEIR and Elizabeth WALLACE. Dr. Hugh WEIR was born 14Jan 1786 in VA and Elizabeth WALLACE was born 11Nov 1786 in KY.
James married Catherine Jane MORRIS (born 25Dec 1836 in North AL to Jefferson MORRIS and Glovinia ?) around 1854.

R. D. MCFARLEN was married to Doddridge JONES (daughter of LeGrand Michaux JONES and Cassandra Charity ?) They were married in TN or AL and moved to TX in the late 1800s.

Herman GIMPLE was born around 1858 (we think in KY). Mary Anna LEMBACH was born around 1864 (again, we think in KY). Herman GIMPLE and Mary Anna LEMBACH are believed to be 1st generation Americans. From what I have found in the 1920 census records, both of their parents were born in Germany and from family members I know they came from Alsace-Lorraine Region.

John Thomas HENNESSY born in 1903 in Louisville, KY to Daniel HENNESSY (b. about 1879 in KY) and Anna SULLIVAN.
