Ms. Nellie has been married a few times though I have not verified all marriages She was married to William Lightfoot Calhoun. They were married on August 8, 1889 at Jonathan Langley's store. Recorded in Selected Floyd Co., Ky Marriages page 22.

Also, recorded in Selected Floyd Co., Ky Marriages pg 36 is listed a Mary E. Hale marrying Elbert S. Robinson, no dates or stated ages.

Note: T.S. Hamilton is the father of Tandy in #48

Nellie's other son, William, b. 4-1873 is also the son of Tandy S. Hamilton. There is some speculation that H.C. Fitzpatrick is the father of William but I do not believe this. William named one of his sons' Tandy S. Hale. If he were the son of H.C. Fitzpatrick he would have named one of his sons after him.

Though still researching this theory, I believe that Tandy S. Hamilton is the son of Stephen Hamilton and Cynthia Stratton daughter of Tandy Stratton.
Tandy S. Hamilton was born around 1841.

I found the family of Stephen Hamilton and Cynthia Stratton. They do have a son, Tandy L. Hamilton b. 1836 who married Rhoda Whitaker 7-5-1877 in Floyd County, Ky. (four years after William's birth).

Stephen Hamilton b. 1787 d. 1842. He married Cynthia Stratton d/o Tandy Stratton on 2-23-1822 in Floyd Co., Ky.

(Note: In the 1870 Census #49 it lists Tandy S. Hamilton and Stephen Hamilton (same age) (possible twin brothers) and Stephen's wife listed in 1870 Census is Nancy 20 years of age.) So, I truly believe that Tandy S. Hamilton and Stephen H. Hamilton are twins.

NOTE: RESEARCH IN PROGRESS:
Another Hale/Hamilton researcher claims that another son, Wilson, was born to Ms. Nellie Hale in 1872 but I have found no record of this. It is a possibility that census taker misspelled son, Nelson's, name and put "Wilson" or vise versa.

Listed in Selected Floyd Co., Ky Marriage Records is also a Wesley Hale marrying Sarah Conley on 6-14-1897. This may be either the correct marriage of Wesley, first marriage, or this Wesley is not the son of Nellie.
