| I am researching the James Sleightholm family (wife Rachael Ellerby). James came to Canada at age 13 from North Yorkshire, England. He is the son of Isaac Sleightholm and Annie Watson. The farthest I have traced the family back is to John Sleightholm born November 10, 1549 in Oswaldkirk, England. The family originated in Denmark I believe as this is a Danish surname. If anyone has information on the Sleightholm's of North Yorkshire (may be spelled Sleightholme) please let me know. I have a lot of information already that I would be happy to share. |
