I am researching the following surnames: SLOVER FISK WILLIAMS COPE BECKER WEAVER BEECROFT APPLEGATE The SLOVER and FISK families have lived in Texas since the early 1900's. The Greenleaf FISK,Sr. (B. 5/19/1807) family immigrated from England. They are noted in the history of Brownwood County, Texas. The WILLIAM's and COPE's have probably been in Texas the same amount of time. I have been told that somewhere in the ancestry of one of these four families I am related to the Sam Houston who is noted in Texas history. The BECKER family comes from the north, in Wisconsin and Minnesota. John BECKER immigrated from Germany. I do not know when, but I am very interested in finding information on this family. The WEAVER family has been concentrated in Illinois since the mid 1800's. The George BEECROFT family immigrated from England. In 1884, Thomas BEECROFT (B. 3/7/1832)brought his grandson Herbert to America, then he went back for the rest of the family. I have extensive information on this family since it has come to America, but none before that. Most of the APPLEGATE family have also lived in Illinois since the early 1900's.
