Technical notes on the Scott, Eynon, and Avery family monuments.

• The Eynon/Jones monument is shared, with the Eynon name on the west and the Jones name on the east.
• On the Eynon side of the Eynon/Jones monument are two headstones:
• Laura E. 1862-1937 and Thomas L. 1849-1920.
• On the Jones side of the Eynon/Jones monument are two headstones:
• Alfred [Jones] 1829-1914 and Eliza [Jones], wife of Alfred [Jones] 1829-1907.
• The Scott and Avery monuments are squared to each other, both facing east, with the headstones between them.
• The Scott monument is to the west of the Avery monument.
• The headstones of the Scott, Avery, and Eynon families are in two rows, equidistant from their respective monuments; placed so that a visitor may stroll between the two rows and read the names on each row, right-side-up.
• The Scott monument's headstones read, from south to north:
• Ruth A. Scott 1895-1962, Oliver H. Scott 1878-1951,
• Mother Jenette 1857-1935, Father Elliot 1854-1935.
• The Avery monument's headstones read, from south to north:
• Amos F. Dec. 18, 1883 Apr. 25, 1914; Grace E. July 26, 1884 Feb 26, 1967;
• Luella B. Eynon Jan 12, 1852 Feb 5 1936; Ambrose Eynon Oct 7, 1851 Jan 23 1932.

Interpretation of the Scott, Eynon, and Avery family monuments:

• Amos Avery died young in 1914. Perhaps the Avery monument was placed at that time.
• Thomas Eynon (the uncle of Amos' wife Grace) died in 1920. Perhaps the Eynon monument was placed at that time. The Eynon monument stands quite a ways south of the Avery monument.
• Ambrose Eynon (Amos' father-in-law and Thomas' brother) died in 1932. At this point, a choice was apparently made to bury Ambrose by the Avery monument, perhaps so that he would be with his son-in-law Amos Avery (and eventually with his daughter Grace Eynon Avery).
• Elliot Scott (Ambrose Eynon's brother-in-law) died in March 1935, and Elliot's wife Jenette Howe Scott soon followed Elliot in death, in July 1935. Perhaps the Scott monument was placed at this time. It was placed in a square arrangement with the Avery monument, perhaps so that Elliot would be with his brother-in-law Ambrose Eynon (and eventually with his sister and Ambrose Eynon's wife, Luella Scott Eynon).
• Everything was decided by that point: spouses and children were buried next to one another: Laura Eynon with her husband Thomas (at the Eynon monument), Oliver and Ruth Scott with Oliver's parents Elliot and Jenette Scott (at the Scott monument), Grace with her husband Amos and her parents Ambrose and Luella (at the Avery monument).
