Evemy Agisters, New Forest, Hampshire, England

Evemy Agisters, New Forest, Hampshire, England
Charles Evemy, centre with his son Albert on the left and Mr Taylor, Charles brother-in-law. The Evemy's were gamekeepers, or agisters in the New Forest, Hampshire, for several generations. They were a well known New Forest family, and there is a stained glass window in Burley Church to the memory of Charles, who was Church Warden for many years. We believe that Evemy is a Huguenot name and that they came to England some time in the 1600's. Charles is my 3 x great uncle, and I have contact with his great, great grandson. Through him I was able to find a book called Records of Burley, a New Forest village, now out of print, which is full of details about the Evemy family. Land records, house histories and lots of photos, which speak a thousand words.
