I had no idea when I started my family research that I would discover that our history goes back so far.I've found Pilgrims, Quakers, Huguenots, Lutherans, folks looking for land and a new beginning and some standing on the shores to welcome them.None came after 1750 and some as early as 1630.They were frontiersmen, farmers, trades people, teachers, surveyors, most loved politics and I like to think all were ready & willing to do what had to be done to survive in this new land.
Most landed in New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts; some came to Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia, but all ended up by 1850 either passing through or staying in SW Pennsylvania or Monongalia County Virginia.
I have chosen report material that I have researched myself and feel reasonably confident that they are reliable.I have a lot of work of other researchers and sources pertaining to previous generations in my FTM database which I would love to share, with the caveat that documentation should be checked out.Please contact me by email with your comments or questions.
