Names being researched include: Anderson, Baier, Bates (Betz), Bauer, Ender, Haag (Haug), Heit (Haid, Heyete), Flick (Fluck), Keller, Klobe, Maxfield, Provest, Rumhadder (Ramhardter), Schaffner (Schiffhauer), Schmidt, Segar, Smeltzer, Thines, Webb, and Weber. John R. Bauer born February 17, 1833, in Schrems, Austria, and married Theresa Vogler Statleman, also of Austria. Joseph Bauer married Anna Rumhadder in September of 1889.They settled in Eau Galle, Dunn County, Wisconsin. Bernhard Weber married Lagartha Lathler and had a son, Peter Adolph Weber, who married Mary E. Bates in Eau Galle, Wisconsin. Bernhard arrived in Wisconsin with Peter, Jacob, Nicklaus, John and Mary. Jacob Charles Smeltzer served in the Civil War - any information would be appreaciated. Parents names aren't known but he had a son William Myles Smeltzer who married Philamena Ender in Buffalo County, Wisconsin. Joseph Haid (Heit) of Austria had a son, Peter who came to America and settled in Arkansaw, Pepin County, Wisconsin. Peter married Theresa Enttler. Very little is known about the Schaffners (Schiffhauers). Richard came to America with his sister Sophia. He fought in the Civil War for Iowa then made his way to Eau Galle, Wisconsin. There is some information indicating that his grandparents were Valentin Schiffhauer and Kunigunde Odilla Reuter of Geismar, Germany. George Webb married Martha Took in Dilton's Marsh, England. We have no information on family in England but would be very interested in tracing back further on that tree. His son's Jacob and James (Jesse) came to America eventually settling in Eau Galle, Wisconsin. Josiah Segar came across the border of Canada into New York on snowshoes. The family settled in Malone, Franklin County, New York, but eventually moved onto Wisconsin. I'd like to hear from any family left in New York. His father was also named Josiah and married Jeanne Mazave or Marave. Josiah II married Margureite Provest in St. Phillippe de Laprairie, Canada. Her family can be traced to Raphael Provest and Ursule Deneau. There is a Martin Provest born in 1611 in St. Phillippe who married Marie Olivier Silvestre Manitouabewich - any information on Marie's Native American family would be appreciated. We would be interested in knowing if Martin is an ancestor of Raphael. Also, Magdalena Kienholz married John Flick. They both came from Switzerland to Wisconsin in the mid-1800's. Magdalena is the descendant of a Kienholz who was named after a village in Switzerland that was buried by an avalanche - he was the sole survivor. Any information on the Kienholz or Flick families in Switzerland would be appreciated.
